Community Outreach

Here at Emmaus Rd, we love our city. We believe that God wants the best for Guildford and for those that he loves – and that includes you!

We aim to see lives transformed by kindness, friendship and hope. We are passionate about people from all walks of life, and if you are in need of a helping hand, a good friend or would like someone to chat to, check out some of the things we have going on below.

If you are interested in attending any of the things we offer or have any questions, contact jazz.crowne@emmausrd.com or call the church office.

Family Outreach

Family life can be tough sometimes – emotionally, practically and financially. Family Outreach offers help with school uniform, clothes and toys, fun days out during the school holidays, a brilliant chance to get away on holiday with your family and the team, as well as on-going day to day friendship and support throughout the year, and much more.

If you are part of a family that would like a helping hand emotionally or practically, or would simply like to have a good chat over a cup of tea, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team for more information and the details of events we have coming up.

We also take referrals from Home School Link Workers, and other professionals that work with children and families.

Vaughan House Visits

Every week, a group from Emmaus Rd visit Vaughan House (a Riverside housing project, for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness).

If you live at Vaughan House and would like to come along, talk to your support worker or head to the Coffee Palace from 8:00pm-9:00pm on a Tuesday night. Coffee, cake and good chat guaranteed!

Once a month on a Sunday morning, the team also host a brunch. There you will find the opportunity to hear someone’s story, and how God has changed their life, as well as to eat a hearty full English. Come along on a Tuesday night to find out more.

Monday Night Dinner

Starting September 2017

No one should go hungry, and everyone should have someone to share some dinner with. If you are an adult living in Guildford or the surrounding area and a free, hot meal would benefit you, come along to the Founders Studio (on Millbrook opposite the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre) on Monday evenings. From 7:00pm-9:00pm, you will find people to chat to and a delicious meal.
