Pete is one of the founding champions of the 24-7 Prayer movement and leads Emmaus Rd with Sammy. They live in Guildford with their two sons, and their two dogs, Noodle & Crumble. Pete is an ambassador for the NGO Tearfund and served for seven years on the senior leadership team of HTB in London. Pete is a renowned author and his books include Red Moon Rising, God on Mute and Dirty Glory. He loves live music, decent coffee, Portsmouth FC and art galleries. He’s happiest climbing mountains, knocking down walls or whizzing around the local country lanes in his 1964 Morris Minor convertible.
Sammy became a Christian just up the road from Guildford at the age of seventeen. Working together in team ministry since they were first married more than 20 years ago, Sammy & Pete have planted two churches. With a background in business, Sammy is a proud mum to two teenage boys, and can often be found reading highbrow books in quiet corners of local coffee shops. Less impressively, she admits to having watched the Bridget Jones movie more than thirty times, and to having once been lead singer in a pub covers band.
Bill is married to Nici and they have three sons. Before joining Emmaus Rd he worked as a curate under Bishop Sandy Millar and was involved in planting a church in inner city London. This was followed by five years serving on the leadership team at HTB where he founded the Furnace, a community of intercessors committed to fulfilling the vision of non stop prayer in HTB’s 24-7 Prayer room, which he oversaw for two and a half years. He is passionate about people encountering the presence of God. And Fulham FC! Bill loves good stories.
Director of Operations
Nici keeps Emmaus Rd running! When not in the office or looking after her three boys she will be found taking on the Surrey Hills in preparation for her next triathlon. Her background is in marketing and operations with experience working for large corporations, starts ups and charities. She loves anything competitive and a good coffee.

After five remarkable years traveling around Europe with her husband Scot and their two children, Misty returned to teaching. She now heads up the Matrix Trust, providing educational opportunities for young people who have been excluded from mainstream education.
Global Mission Partners
Scot is married to Misty and, together with their two children, they spent five years living and working in Eastern Europe before returning to the UK in 2010. Scot leads the communications, campaigns and fundraising teams at Christian Solidarity Worldwide. A rather slow, but enthusiastic, long distance runner you can find Scot running the Surrey hills in his spare time.

Originally from Southampton, he studied youth & community work with applied theology before moving to Guildford to join the team 4 years ago. Matt is married to Paz who he met in Spain whilst at a 24-7 Prayer gathering. He is passionate about seeing young people realise their potential, discover their gifts and get to know Jesus. And he makes the best cup of tea Guildford has ever seen.
Peter arrived in Guildford from Northern Ireland over 5 years ago to study at the Academy for Contemporary Music, graduating with a First. A world-class musician, he has played with many of the world’s best known worship leaders & regularly plays guitar with Worship Central. It was whilst touring in Canada that he met Andrea, to whom he is now married! Peter is passionate about helping people truly encounter God in worship. And board games.
Executive Assistant to Pete
Originally from the North East, Holly has been part of Emmaus since 2010 and has been working as Pete’s assistant for the past 4 years. She also leads the Emmaus Prayer Room team, serves on the Evening Service team and heads up the Living Room Sessions. Occasionally you can find her organising an Emmaus Rd party – her favourite is the Winter Ceilidh! Holly is in her happy place when sharing meals with friends, listening to music, taking photos or practicing hand lettering. In the warmer months she attempts to windsurf.
A local girl, Jazz has a background in mental health nursing and is married to Michael, who is a sound engineer in the West End. Together they are on the evening service leadership team. With a big pastoral heart, Jazz co-ordinates our community outreach work and oversees collectives, our midweek small groups. Jazz loves a good coffee, a good joke and a good book, regardless of what it’s about!
Jessica studied Spanish & Portuguese at Queen’s University Belfast before interning at Emmanuel Church in Lurgan for a year. She moved to Guildford in August 2016 to take over the kid’s work at Emmaus Rd. Highly competitive by nature, Jessica loves hockey (as long as she wins!) and feels called to seeing children released into their full potential.
Events & Volunteers
Natalie is a Tottenham lady with a big loving heart. After getting married August 2015, Natalie and her husband Robert moved to Guildford and started attending Emmaus Rd. She is a keen lifestyle & fashion blogger as well as being a lover of Gospel & Worship music, her favourite artist being William McDowell. You can find her around on a Sunday morning with a big smile on her face… and wearing a colourful headwrap!
Danny grew up in Scotland and studied at the University of the West of Scotland before moving to Guildford for the Vision Course in 2015. At the conclusion of the course Danny took on the role of youth intern and now works alongside Matt Davis on all things youth. Danny’s passionate about seeing young people raised up and encouraged. He loves properly made tea, surfing and Ayr RFC.
Jess, while working for a local charity, leads the student work at Emmaus with Lilli and her husband Ben. Jess is the fun-loving, big-hearted member of the student team. In her spare time she loves playing netball, eating thai food and enjoying a glass of wine with friends. She has a big heart for vulnerable people and seeing those who are least raised up for God to use them. She is also a very gifted cellist, although she wouldn’t tell you!
Ben, with Lilli and his wife Jess, leads the student work at Emmaus while studying for a degree in Theology at St Mellitus College in London. Ben is probably at his happiest when he’s either engaged in some form of sport, sat in a cinema or geeking out on Lord of the Rings. Ben is passionate about developing people, Christ-like leadership and seeing people surrender their lives to Jesus one decision at a time.
Originally from Germany, Lilli works alongside Ben & Jess Ford with the thousands of local students. Having trained with the campus ministry Agape, she originally came to Guildford to study on the 24-7 Prayer Vision Course but, wonderfully, the Lord called her to stay- and she is now married to a Welshman!

Jenny is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist at a local school for children with complex needs. She is passionate about seeing those with a disability included and welcomed into every part of church and heads up this work at Emmaus Rd, both in church and through our Family Outreach team.
